A Murder of Quality

A murder mystery, which was most unexpected given it features George Smiley. The second book in the series, though I wonder whether le Carré considered it a series at this early stage. It’s as much a satire/scathing commentary on class and the horrors of British private schooling as it is a mystery novel. Not entirely satisfying, the dénouement a little weak and sudden, but it is still written with typical panache.
