Smiley's People

After barely featuring in the complicated marvel that was The Honourable Schoolboy, George Smiley is front and centre of the aptly named Smiley’s People. More than front and centre: this time we get inside his head and what a fascinating place it is. The return of oft-retired central characters from the earlier books is entirely satisfying. Another triumph in the series, delivering almost exactly what the Smiley reader might ask. Appears to resolve the central obsession which leaves me curious as to what the final two books will bring.
