Far more violent and unpleasant than expected, leavened by the caustic humour of Oldman (which takes some episodes to get used to). It’s hard watching nasty people being nasty to each other, with barely a redeeming quality amongst them. Most of the characters are hit or miss too, only really Lowden and Reeves joining Oldman on the might-keep-watching-because-of list.
